Fundraising Director – Heart Walk
POSITION OVERVIEW

At the American Heart Association we're working to prevent, treat and defeat our nation's No. 1 killer, cardiovascular disease. We have an excellent opportunity for a Fundraising Director serving the metro St. Louis area. The Director will be based in our St. Louis office.
Motivated and result oriented outside sales person needed to sell our life saving mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, and to solicit sponsorships at a corporate level.
Director will be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the Start! Heart Walk, a major fundraising event that promotes physical activity.
Responsibilities include:

Prospect and obtain corporate sponsorships.

Promote walker participation.

Build strong relationships with volunteers.

Support volunteer committees.

Handle event planning.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates need to have:
-
2+ years outside sales or fundraising experience

Strong outside sales, cold-calling and relationship-building skills

Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

Team leader able to work well in a team driven environment

Demonstrated knowledge of metro St. Louis area businesses and philanthropic communities preferred
